I truly feel we have all read over the past 3 years what has gone wrong in the UAE, therefore I am not going to add to the mundane stories we all have had to endure over the past few years, I prefer to look ahead as many have done and should still do.

2012 will bring many new changes and challenges again on the back of a diverse 2011. However, last year was very challenging for our Clients and EDARA with the pressures of the economy playing a big part of where we are today.

Again last year again brought much speculation on the impact of what was to come of our market downturn, I was asked many times what I thought of the situation in the UAE and my response, as always, is "I am the wrong person to ask if you want more negativity as I know the UAE will always survive and turn any negative situation in to a positive one, never underestimate the strength of the UAE". That is my true belief of the UAE and the driving force of our Local leaders.

It was no surprise that we all had to re-think our strategies for 2012 and beyond and personally going through a depression in the early nineties help me cope with the current situation, in fact, the development slow down helped us to review our strategy to broaden our service supply chain stronger beyond Project Management in to Architectural, Engineering, Cost Consultancy, Interior Design and Fit-Out services.

Clients had big decisions to make with projects that were in the early or even developed design stages of the pre-contract phase and it is good to see that many of those suspended projects have and are coming back on stream again, this is huge and a very positive move in our local market, remembering, the worlds eyes is always on the UAE.

I am confident that any Client partnering with EDARA will experience our desire to continue being pliant and resourceful to fulfill there challenges with the sense of importance. We have always managed difficult situations in difficult markets and with the ability, experience and commitment of EDARA staff to succeed always.
